NYI is a denominational acronym which stands for Nazarene Youth International.

The NYI department of the Centralia Church of the Nazarene primarily ministers to those between the ages of 12 and 18. The youth meet weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM.

Beyond the weekly gatherings, the youth also meet at the church building on the first Friday night of each month for a time of fellowship. Board games, video games, and a variety of other activities occupy the First Friday events.

An environment is created which encourages teens to interact with each other, as well as the adult sponsors. Teens are allowed a great deal of latitude in asking questions about topics which may be concerning them at any given time.

Beyond the local meetings and events, the Centralia NYI group also participates in many events developed and promoted by the Illinois District Church of the Nazarene. Teen Bible quizzing, Celebrate Life, and Radiate are some examples of the District programs in which the teens participate.

All meetings, events, and gatherings are chaperoned by adult sponsors.
